The Stanley Electric Pressure Washer is a fantastic piece of machinery that’s good for completing jobs around the house. Like all pressure washers reviewed here at TBEPW, it has its benefits and drawbacks – but fortunately, the former outweigh the latter. Figuring out how well this machine will work for you means taking a look at a few different factors. You should look at how easy it is to assemble, how much power it packs, how easy it is to use, and how useful the included accessories really are. If you can look at all that information, you’ll know whether this is the electric pressure washer for you.
Shipping and Assembly
The shipping process for this pressure washer is, sadly, a little hit or miss. The good news is that Stanley is very good at dealing with any problems that happen due to shipping. The bad news, though, is that you’ll have to wait for replacement parts (or a replacement unit) to ship. The problems aren’t so common that you’ll definitely get a broken unit, but they’re common enough that you’ll want to make sure you have Stanley’s number (or that of the shipper) on hand after you make your initial order.
Assembly isn’t too tough. If you can follow the directions provided, you should be able to get the job done without any major problems. There is a fairly common issue on the water inlet connection, though. You’ll want to be very careful, as it’s very easy to strip off the plastic threads and leave yourself with a leak. This won’t stop the machine from working at all, though – it will just leave you with a puddle every time you use the machine. If you’re careful and don’t overdo it, though, this should not be a problem with which you will have to deal.
The good news is that the cleaning power on this unit really is as good as advertised. You’re not necessarily going to knock the paint off the walls of your house when you’re cleaning, but you’ll cut through a few layers of grime on your car with no problem. It’s the type of pressure washer you use for the average job around your house, and it works very well when used for that purpose. There are certain jobs that might take a little longer with this washer, but you also don’t have to worry too much if you’re using it on something as important as a vehicle.
The foam cannon is absolutely a neat addition, but it’s definitely something you’re going to use more for cleaning off your car than anything else. It is a great addition to this cleaner, though, especially due to the somewhat lower power of the device. If you’re looking to clean off any of your outdoor toys, this tool is going to make your cleaning process go by much more quickly. At this point, it’s hard to figure out why something that works this well doesn’t come standard on all pressure washers.
This is an incredibly easy-to-use model of pressure washer, and the relative lack of power here really is a benefit for those who don’t use commercial models on a regular basis. You’re not going to knock out a window or tear a shutter off your house when you’re doing a simple cleaning job, so there’s a lot less to worry about than you might think. The unit is pretty much one that you can set up and forget about, too, so you won’t have to use any complicated controls when you’re just trying to get a cleaning job done.
The only downside for this unit is the sound. It’s an electric pressure washer, but you’re not going to get the kind of quiet operation that you’d get from an average electric unit. The engine is a little more reliable and it’s certainly better for giving you power efficiently, but that power is going to come at the price of annoying everyone who’s around you. Fortunately, this isn’t something that should matter too much if you’re not choosing to use the pressure washer late at night or next to a sleeping child.
One of the selling points of this pressure washer is that it comes equipped with a handful of very useful accessories. In truth, you’re probably only going to end up using a few of them for your regular jobs – it’s not that the extras are bad, but rather that the average user just won’t need them. Even with that said, they’re all high-quality pieces that you’d usually have to buy separately, so it’s nice to see them included in the purchase price of the pressure washer. If you’re looking to do multiple jobs, they really can save you time and money.
There’s a pretty frequent complaint about these accessories, though. You will have to stop the washer, switch out the old accessory, and attach the new one before you can start working on your next project. In reality, this is going to take you a minute or less – but it would be nice if the accessories were somehow built into the unit. As it is, you’re just looking at a small annoyance that should not impact how you use the machine. If this is the biggest problem you can find with this pressure washer, you can be sure that you’re using something that’s worth buying.
The verdict here is largely positive. While there are some very minor issues for which you should watch out, there’s nothing that makes this pressure washer anything less than stellar. You’ll want to pay attention during shipping and make sure that you follow the directions during assembly, but otherwise this is a very stress-free pressure washing machine. If you’re looking for something to help you clean off your driveway or you house quickly without causing any type of trouble, this is definitely the pressure washer for you. Give it a shot – you’ll love the experience.
